Innocent, the people who make smoothies, juice and veg pots, are running a competition to see what warped, freakish creations you can come up with using fruit and veg (details of how to enter are below).
I was sent a box of fruit and vegetables along with a set of their lovely alphabet magnets (the spooky ones glow in the dark). This was very well timed as K has got suspected hand, foot and mouth disease and has been under house arrest since last Friday which is driving me crazy, so it was good to have something to distract her.
Here are our Frankenstein monsters:
The Grim Re-pear (ironically he came to an untimely end when K ate him) and on the right we have:
Tomb Stan.
I find Stan a bit scary as I have never cooked an aubergine before, but I've found this recipe for a slow cooker tagine which I'm hoping to give a try. Sorry Stan.

Here are Innocent's instructions for the competition:
- Make your fruity freak or vegetable monster from the spookiest looking fruit or veg you can find
- Give it a name and use your innocent magnets to spell it out (how about 'Terry Able' or 'Aaaaaaaaaalan')
- Take a picture of your spooky creation and post it in our scary Halloween gallery www.innocentdrinks.co.uk/
fruityfreaks and email myfruitandvegmonster@ innocentdrinks.co.uk with your flickr name and a postal address. - The first 1,000 entries win a set of limited edition glow-in-the-dark Halloween 0-9 number magnets (the perfect addition to our alphabet set)
- When you're done with your monster why not use any leftover veg to make a soup or whizz any fruit up into a smoothie
