Unfinished business

I have a habit of starting a project and then leaving it half done.

This is a perfect example, my blip photo of a canvas that I got for Christmas: http://www.blipfoto.com/entry/938741
I have to laugh at my optimism at saying "Hopefully my next blip will be the finished painting!". I did start painting and I didn't like how it was looking (and it was taking AGES) so I shelved it, then gave it a whitewash, then left it propped on a radiator in the living room, taunting me with its blankness.

But I saw something on Pinterest that made me decide to tackle it again...

Painting makes me happy so I just went for it yesterday once K had gone to bed. I used the existing background for my butterfly outlines and painted the negative space a block colour (which still needs a second coat). I decided that if I wasn't happy with the painting this time then I'd admit defeat, but it's turned out fine so it can go on the wall after all, hurray!

I've also finally got my wedding photos printed and into frames and an album, and the picture that I got for Mr as a wedding present is at last framed and on the wall.

Next on the list is:

Paint the frames that I got from the jumble sale for the cluster wall and get photos

Recycle my favourite cardi that the moths have eaten to death into this for the baby...
The tutorial to make it can be found at Chez Beeper Bebe (along with an interesting tale about being bullied by corporate lawyers!)

Then of course there is the ongoing project of the house renovations. We are still sleeping on the floor in the living room while we work on our bedroom. I hope we're back in our room in a proper bed soon because hauling myself and the growing bump off the floor and upstairs for midnight loo trips isn't going to be an option for much longer! Now where did I put K's potty...
