On these dark Wintery days I find it hard to get motivated to do anything much really (especially when it's blowing a gale and you risk being taken out by an airborne recycling bin as soon as you set foot out the front door).
Here are four websites I love that can come to your rescue whether you want to stay in and keep your kids amused or venture out and escape the cabin fever, and it won't cost you a penny apart from printer ink...
Nature Detectives
Great if you want to go for a walk but would like to be inspired to do something other than just go to a playground. Lots of free downloadable pages that you can print off before you head out, including Treasure hunts, Colour bingo and a welly wander!
Patterns for colouring
Very cool patterns and pictures designed by guest illustrators on Carlton Hibbert's website that are free to print out for colouring or painting. Great for long journeys or for when you want to stay indoors. Updated regularly.
Yo Gabba Gabba
I'm a big fan of the Yo Gabba Gabba tv show, and their retro website is packed full of music videos (by real bands that you may even have heard of), games, and gizmos like colour splats which is suitable even for very little ones.
Goobeetsa
Brilliant website by illustrator Brian Gubicza with lots of papercraft toys and masks to cut out and make. I quite fancy a Zombie Freud myself...
I'm linking this post to the Thrifty Families Blog Carnival which is being hosted by Cass at The Diary of a Frugal Family this month.
