It's a simple idea (and simple ideas are usually the best), a lightweight, reusable cup that fits coffee shop machines. I like that the design is similar to the polystyrene or cardboard cups that you'd be using when you buy a coffee, the obvious difference being that you don't throw this one away, it looks and feels much more attractive and comes in variety of lovely accent colours (£8.95).
I've switched to decaf now I have a bump but I'm still a coffee addict and buying coffee out and about can really add up. My plan is to make coffee at home and take it out in my Keep Cup (great for long strolls in the cold to the park with K) or to pop it in my bag and use it at the coffee shop. The Keep Cup can even help you save money: if you use your own cup in Starbucks you get a 25p discount. There is a great article at lovemoney.com called "Cut your coffee costs" which is worth a read.
Other pros
Dishwasher safe & microwaveable
BPA free
The silicon grip can be customised with your drink preferences
Other cons
Leaks if you shake it about so needs to be kept upright
This would make an excellent present for any coffee (or tea!) lover, and there are lots of other well-designed, ethically produced items that caught my eye in the Arte Ideas shop.
I love their Envirosax; a fashionable take on the reusable bag. I'm very tempted to get this one for K (£6.50)
And their Colour-me-in T-shirts are very cool too (£20).
They have free delivery on all orders for a limited time (so I'm definitely going to order a few Envirosax for Christmas pressies!)
You can find their website here.
I was sent a Keep Cup free of charge for the purpose of this review. All opinions, as ever, are my own.
